Recently, the Ministry of Transport, together with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Standards Administration, jointly issued the "Guidelines for the Construction of the National Internet of Vehicles Industry Standard System (Related to Intelligent Transportation)" to promote the application of advanced technologies in the field of intelligent transportation and promote the application of autonomous driving and vehicle-road collaborative technologies and the healthy development of the industry.

As an important part of the "Guidelines for the Construction of the National Internet of Vehicles Industry Standard System", the guidelines focus on the general specifications, core technologies and key applications of intelligent transportation, and build a standard system including intelligent transportation basic standards, service standards, technical standards, product standards, etc., to guide the formulation and revision of relevant standards in the field of intelligent transportation in the Internet of Vehicles industry, and give full play to the leading role of standards in key technologies, core products and functional applications in the Internet of Vehicles industry.

The guideline proposes that by the end of 2022, more than 20 urgently needed standards for intelligent transportation in the fields of intelligent transportation infrastructure, traffic information assistance, etc. will be formulated and revised, and a standard system supporting the application and industrial development of the Internet of Vehicles will be initially established; by 2025, more than 20 key standards for intelligent transportation in the fields of intelligent management and services, vehicle-road collaboration, etc. will be formulated and revised, and a systematic standard system will be formed to support the application of the Internet of Vehicles and meet the needs of transportation management and services.

In addition, the guidelines also require local governments to combine the actual situation of transportation management and service work, rationally plan the system structure of intelligent transportation-related standards, adhere to demand-oriented and innovation-driven, accelerate the formulation of key and urgently needed standards, provide support for building an innovation-driven, open and collaborative Internet of Vehicles industry, and help accelerate the construction of a strong transportation country.
