In June, a total of 48 cities across the country (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the same below) opened 245 urban rail transit lines with an operating mileage of 7,957 kilometers, actually ran 2.56 million trains, completed 1.98 billion passengers, and had 1.22 billion passengers entering the station. No operational safety accidents occurred.
In June, three new cities, Shaoxing, Jiaxing and Haining, opened urban rail transit for the first time, with 8 new operating lines, 1 operating section and 213 kilometers of operating mileage, including the first phase demonstration section of Jiaxing Tram, Xiamen Rail Transit Line 3 (from Xiamen Railway Station to Caicuo Station), Hangzhou Rail Transit Line 8 Phase I, Xuzhou Rail Transit Line 3 Phase I, Changzhou Rail Transit Line 2 Phase I, Shaoxing Rail Transit Line 1 Keqiao Section, Hangzhou-Haikou Line, Suzhou Rail Transit Line 5, and Xi'an Rail Transit Line 14 East Section. Due to the need for epidemic prevention and control in some cities, the national passenger volume decreased by 220 million person-times, a decrease of 10%, and an increase of 35% year-on-year. Overall, while doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control, urban rail transit basically meets the normal travel needs of the public.
